Applied Concepts, Inc., is a Richardson, Texas based electronics company, with 200 employees, specializing in Radar products, Lidar speed measurement products and Video products. We were founded in 1977 and design, build, and sell all of our own products worldwide.

Applied Concepts, Inc., the industry leader in police traffic radar, laser, traffic trailers, and in-car video systems, is seeking a Bids & Proposal Manger to manage our Contracts Group.

If you are a self-starter and have 5-years' experience in preparing bids for government RFQs with a legal background, then read on.


You will primarily be responsible for completing and processing Federal, State, County, and City RFQs (Requests for Bids) which includes preparing all documents required for the bid responses and submitting bid paperwork accurately and on time.

In addition, you will be responsible for monitoring pending Bids and reporting the status and results of bid awards to our sales team and our Executive Management Group.


  • The oversight of timely and accurate, high quality bids that differentiate Applied Concepts, Inc. from competitive responses.
  • Oversee the search for potential bids.
  • Distribute bid copies to the appropriate personnel and manage their responses.
  • Conduct research on previous bids and pricing.
  • Complete special bid requirements such as bid bonds, certificates of insurance, certifications, and other.
  • Coordinate pricing decisions with the Vice-President of Global Sales, the National Sales Manager, and the CFO.
  • Maintain a bid log and tracks results that include the date, successful vendor and pricing.
  • Manage and track the delivery of the bids to the potential customer.
  • Report on the results of the bids and bid awards to the sales team and Executive Management Group.


  • Proven self-starter requiring very little supervision
  • You must be a perfectionist by nature mistakes cost us millions of dollars
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related area, or equivalent experience
  • Two (2) years of experience completing bids for state and city contracts
  • Two (2) years of experience with purchasing contracts and agreements
  • Familiarity with contract terminology and contract structure
  • Experience with state vendor registrations
  • Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures
  • Responds well under pressure, maintaining professionalism at all times
  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
  • Pass a criminal background check
  • Pass a drug screening
