Job Summary:

Applied Concepts, Inc. (ACI), is a 42-year-old Richardson, Texas (MADE-IN-AMERICA) Product Development, Manufacturing, and Sales company. ACI is privately held and has grown from one young Engineer to a staff of 200. ACI designs, manufactures, and sells its STALKER BRAND of products Worldwide. In addition to being the domestic sales leader in police traffic radar, Applied Concepts, Inc. manufactures and sells Lidar speed measurement devices, Police In-Car-Video products, along with a variety of Speed Sensors and roadside Speed Trailers and Speed Signs.

If you have a Technical Degree with an outgoing personality and 10+ years' experience in equipment focused government or industrial Technical Marketing, then read on.

Job Activities:

  • Hiring and management of a small Marketing staff including Product Managers
  • Market intelligence - be the expert on all markets, customers, purchasing habits and histories, and discover key buying criteria
  • Participate with the VP of Engineering, VP of Sales, and VP of Corporate Performance on a Team that proposes and researches new products for consideration. Be an expert on competition, their product features, their pricing, and how they are positioned.
  • Be responsible (with collaboration with both Engineering and Sales) for the creation of the Product Requirements Documents.
  • During the product development, continually communicate with Engineering and receive from Engineering everything discovered about the technology, how our customers will use it, and continually monitor the market for changes that will affect the Product Requirements Document.
  • Work with staff to bring a new product to market by developing a strategic marketing plan, product literature, and any other public-facing documentation as may be required in a timely fashion.
  • Analyze new competitive products and manage ongoing competitive analyses.
  • Develop and continuously update Marketing Plans for each product and each market segment, including all key activities and budgets to support the retention of existing customers and the acquisition of new customers.
  • Act as the primary interface between the company and the public.
  • Help Vice President of Corporate Performance plan the launches of new products and help manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan.
  • Understand and support the ACI sales group; train them on the problems the new product will solve for our customers; develop internal tools and external collateral and teach them how and when to use it.
  • Through your staff, manage trade shows, trade publications, electronic media, and website design.
  • Travel to KEY trade shows and industry conferences around the World. Travel to stay below 10% of total time.

Job Requirements:

  • A four-year technical degree
  • 10 years of previous Technical Marketing experience with an equipment manufacturer
  • Pass a drug screening test

Desirable Critical Skills:

  • Previous experience in sales/marketing to government agencies
  • Previous experience in planning and spearheading multi-million-dollar marketing programs
  • Computer Literate (MS Word/Excel/Power point/Outlook)
