ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (Circuits) NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

You will be supporting and developing new products for the law enforcement community. You will be involved from initial concept all the way through the design/manufacturing cycle. You will sometimes have customer contact and help solve customer issues after the delivery of product. Your talents will make a difference you will be instrumental in the development of products that save lives on our highways.

Applied Concepts, Inc. (ACI), is a 43-year-old Richardson, Texas (MADE-IN-AMERICA) Product Development, Manufacturing, and Sales company. ACI is privately held and has grown from one young Engineer to a staff of 200. ACI designs, manufactures, and sells its STALKER BRAND of products Worldwide. In addition to being the domestic sales leader in police traffic radar, Applied Concepts, Inc. manufactures and sells Lidar speed measurement devices, Police In-Car-Video products, along with a variety of Speed Sensors and roadside Speed Trailers and Speed Signs.

Our engineering group has developed the largest portfolio of intellectual property in our industry and we are recognized for the excellence of our products. We are looking for ONE exceptional Senior Engineer that can help us to continue our tradition of being both the technological leader and sales leader in our marketplace.

WE WILL BE PARTICULARLY INTERESTED IF:

  • You have a very diverse engineering work background (multiple disciplines or multiple technologies)
  • You have a broad skill set hardware (analog and digital) and software (assembly and C/C++)
  • You have worked as an engineering consultant for multiple clients
  • You have worked for a small electronics manufacturing company and been responsible for "doing it all"

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • A four-year Electrical Engineering degree - Masters Degree in engineering or computer science is an advantage
  • 10 years' experience in embedded hardware development
  • Ability to supervise technical staff and develop relationships with key suppliers
  • Ability to fearlessly solve problems in any engineering discipline through others, if necessary
  • Pass a drug screen test

 

EXPERIENCE IN SOME OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING AREAS IS DESIRABLE:

  • Embedded (especially DSP-based) hardware/software development
  • Video capturing, video processing and video display electronics and current video standards.
  • Low power analog circuitry, power management and user control electronics.
  • Schematic capture, part selection, and PCB layout.
  • Providing factory support, solving yield issues and improving production processes.
  • Managing you own development projects, and working with outside contractors and consultants.
